One on One Vocal Coaching
Welcome! My one on one vocal sessions are a supportive space for both children and adults to explore their voice with care, curiosity, and confidence. Whether you are just beginning, returning to singing after time away, or looking to build a stronger foundation, these sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are.
I am a singer songwriter, session singer, vocal coach, and yoga teacher with over twenty years of experience in the music industry. My teaching style is gentle, grounded, and encouraging. I focus on healthy vocal technique, breath awareness, and helping each singer feel more at ease so singing feels natural rather than forced.
I offer two one on one voice session paths. One focuses on building healthy vocal foundations for singing, and the other uses the voice as a tool for wellness, relaxation, and creative flow:
Traditional Vocal Coaching
These sessions offer strong vocal foundations that support singing in any style of music. Lessons are personalized and paced to feel supportive rather than overwhelming.
For children, lessons are playful, confidence building, and age appropriate, with an emphasis on enjoyment, creativity, and self expression.
For adults, sessions often focus on releasing tension, building trust in the voice, expanding range over time, and reconnecting with the joy of singing without pressure or perfection.
Depending on your goals, we may explore
• healthy vocal technique and breath support
• gentle warm ups and vocal coordination
• confidence and comfort while singing
• song work in contemporary and singer songwriter styles
• finding your natural, authentic sound
Voice for Wellness
Voice for wellness sessions offer a gentle, non traditional way to connect with your voice as a tool for relaxation, embodiment, and creative flow. These sessions are not focused on performance or “singing correctly,” but on using the voice to support the nervous system and deepen your connection to your body.
Sessions often begin with simple breathing practices to support the voice and help the body settle. From there, we may explore gentle vocal sounds, humming, toning, and vibration, sometimes paired with light movement or guided awareness. Everything is approached slowly and with care, allowing the voice to emerge naturally rather than being pushed.
Depending on your needs and intentions, a session may include
• breathing practices to support ease and vocal freedom
• gentle vocal sounds, humming, or toning
• vibration for relaxation and nervous system regulation
• releasing tension held in the jaw, throat, and body
• creative vocal exploration without pressure or expectation
No singing experience is required. These sessions are ideal for anyone seeking stress relief, emotional regulation, a deeper mind body connection, or a softer, more intuitive relationship with their voice.
If you have questions, would like help deciding which option is the best fit for you or your child, or would like to schedule a session, please reach out using the contact form below. I would love to connect and see how I can support you.
Vocal Warm Up Library
I also offer a guided vocal warm up set that can be purchased separately from private sessions. This collection is designed for singers who want gentle, supportive guidance they can return to anytime.
These warm ups focus on ease, healthy coordination, and helping the voice feel connected to the body rather than strained or pushed. Many people use them as a daily practice, a way to prepare for singing, or as a low pressure entry point before beginning one on one coaching.
This offering is a good fit if you want
• guided vocal warm ups you can use at your own pace
• support for healthy vocal habits between lessons
• a gentle introduction to my teaching style
• a standalone option for voice care and consistency
You are welcome to use this alongside private sessions or on its own. You can purchase the vocal warm up set here.

Jennifer is a very knowledgeable teacher . She understands voice and song skills. She is patient and positive and a pleasure to work alongside. She is professional and always ready to work with you in your class . The way she worked with me helped me understand the dynamics of song construction. I still consider her a resource . I’m thankful to know her.

My two sons have been taking voice lessons from Jennifer Fertado for over a year. Ms. Fertado is an excellent teacher and has a lot of knowledge and experience in not only voice, but with music theory and instruments. The class is enjoyable to both of my children and they have had noticeable improvement in their vocal ability. The class includes vocal warm up, music theory, and singing a song of their choice. I look forward to continuing our weekly lessons with Ms. Fertado and the progress that will be made.

Miss Jennifer is an amazing music teacher. I have a special-needs child and she managed to make my daughter fall in love with singing. Just an information that helps- my daughter is non-verbal autistic. But in music classes and lessons with Miss Jen, she comes to life. Highly recommend.

We met Teacher Jennifer when my two children were distance learning due to the pandemic. Although we have not met in person, my kiddos love learning piano with her. She has taught my kids for several years now. We have ordered the piano music books online, she has provided music via email for special songs that interest my kids (e.g. Harry Potter, Pokemon, seasonal songs) or even shared her screen with the sheet music. She is patient and can gauge when my kid is not following a new song and will pause to refresh on some basics. Although, we take piano lessons, she assisted my daughter to prepare for an audition that required her to sing and play the piano. She reaches out between lessons to check in with me. Teacher Jennifer is one of those special people who will positively shape how your child feels about music.
